The Delopment of the Bureau of Finance of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta

The Bureau of Finance is one of the supporting units for the implementation of higher education at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, under the coordination of the Vice Rector II. Broadly speaking, the Bureau of Finance is responsible in managing the financial administration starting from receiving student payments, verifying budget proposals, disbursing budgets, receiving and examining reports on budget usage, as well as composing financial reports.

 

As an institutional unit, the Bureau of Finance has vision and missions that are in line with the vision and missions of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The complete formulation of the vision, mission, and objectives of the Bureau of Finance is as follows:

Vision:

In 2029, the Bureau of Finance of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta is targeted to become an accountable and Islamic financial administration management institution, which supports the realization of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta as a center for Islamic science and technology education and development and provides direction for change.

Missions:

  1. Professional in services and providing financial information,
  2. Utilizing the modern technologies in the financial management,
  3. Implementing the Islamic values in the services and financial management.

Objectives:

  1. Realizing the competent financial management personnel in accordance with their fields,
  2. Providing the financial services using modern and integrated technology,
  3. Providing the financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and in real time,
  4. Displaying the Islamic morality in providing the financial services with a professional, friendly, beautiful, modern, and trustworthy manner.

 

To realize the vision-missions-objectives above, the Bureau of Finance institutionally has a representative organizational structure with clear job descriptions. The latest organizational structure of the Bureau of Finance follows the Rector’s Decree No. 063/I/2017, as follows:

In addition to the completeness of the organizational structure, the vision-missions-objectives are realized through work programs that are prepared in the form of a Long-Term Development Plan (RPJP) up to. in 2029, the Medium Term Development Plan (RPJM) per 4 years, and the Short Term Development Plan per 1 year or Annual Implementation Plan (RIT), following the following scheme:

 

To realize the RPJM and RIT, a development strategy along with real work activities or programs is determined. In order to select the right development strategy and types of activities, a SWOT analysis is carried out, namely analyzing existing conditions related to strengths (S), weaknesses (W), opportunities (O), and threats (T), which are then compared with the ideal conditions to be achieved (gap analysis). Broadly speaking, the ideal conditions to be achieved are as stated in the vision of the Bureau of Finance Bureau until 2029.
